Travel to Bangladesh
Trip to Bangladesh , the great little jewel of Asia, designed to visit different ecosystems , tour the main cities and get to know some of the country's ethnic minorities .
We will start from the capital Dhaka to see the plains watered by the Brahmaputra, Padma, Meghna rivers and countless tributaries. We will advance towards its mouth to the Sunderbans , the largest mangrove forest in the world. We will visit some floating markets and fishing villages to learn about local traditions. We will continue to the city of Chittagong and its large ship breaking yard. We will finish the route in the Bandarban region, near the border with Tripura and Myanmar. On the Nilachal hill and the Chilluk mountains we will have the opportunity to learn about the reality and customs of various ethnic minorities such as the Tripuras, the Mrus and the Bawms .
Dhaka and surrounding areas Dacca Entering Dhaka is already an impressive experience worth having. We will have two full days to visit this macro-Asian city and get a little closer to the daily life of its residents. We will visit the main markets of Dhaka: Kawran Bazar, Amin Bazar, Shakhari Bazar, Islampur Bazar and Chawk. We will see brick factory workers loading and unloading ships. We will drive through the Old Dhaka and Sadarghat Pier slums.If we have time
Batik and Rupshi:
We visit the Batik City in Narayanganj, a famous and colorful place for fabric making. We go to a textile factory where we are shown the process of dyeing and drying these fabrics. Rupshi is a city known for the production of jamdani, a delicate muslin fabric that was recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity in 2013.
Fascinating floating markets : We will enjoy a boat ride on the canals of Banaripara while observing the beauty of the landscape that surrounds us. We move between markets and floating cities to enjoy neighborhood life and get to know the locals.
Ethnic minorities of the Bandarban mountains:
Nilachal
This hill is situated 2,000 m above sea level and offers a panoramic view of Bandarban. We will take a short walk along the hill, famous for the beauty of its landscape. We will visit the indigenous town of the Tripuras. This ethnic group maintains much of its culture and traditions intact, in addition to its own language.
